BOSTON—Public affairs firm Rasky Baerlein Strategic Communications has named George Cronin and Kelly Lynch as principals in the firm.  Both were both members of the firm at the time of the merger between Rasky & Company and The Choate Group in 1997.

Cronin, a Choate Group alumnus, is senior vice president for public affairs overseeing government relations, grassroots organizing and ballot initiatives. Lynch began her career at Rasky & Company and left from 2001 to 2003 to serve as manager of corporate communications for the Stop & Shop Supermarket Company. She is currently senior vice president of the real estate and financial service practice areas.

Referring to Lynch and Cronin as “the future leadership of the firm,” Joe Baerlein, president says they will both become part of the firm’s operating committee, and will take on new responsibilities beyond their respective practice groups. The firm’s strategic course will continue to be set by Baerlien, chairman Larry Rasky, and CEO Ann Carter.

Cronin is responsible for government relations, political intelligence, lobbying, procurement representation, ballot initiatives and grassroots organizing on behalf of a diverse group of clients including the Eli Lilly, MasterCard and Toyota. He has also been involved in many political campaigns throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and New Hampshire, and several presidential election campaigns. During the 2000 presidential election, he served as press secretary for the Democratic coordinated campaign in New Hampshire. Most recently he served as a senior advisor and New England political director for U.S. Sen. Joseph Biden’s 2008 Presidential campaign.

Lynch is responsible for overseeing communications strategies for complex real estate development projects, corporate positioning campaigns, matters of litigation and cause-related marketing programs.
