NEW YORK—After 18 years with Weber Shandwick, René Mack, former president of the agency’s global travel and lifestyle practice, has left to become the president of Percepture, a digital marketing and public relations agency founded by CEO Thor Harris, a former BSMG (now Weber Shandwick) colleague.

Percepture represents consumer and business-to-business clients in the organic and natural foods, fashion, finance, telecommunications, wellness, travel, hospitality and transportation sectors, and provides them with services including traditional public relations, strategic social media, digital marketing, SEO, crisis communications and reputation management.

Mack has worked with countries (The Islands Of The Bahamas, The Canadian Tourism Commission); states (Pure Michigan); CVBs (Hilton Head Island and Beverly Hills); cities (New Orleans post-Hurricane Katrina); cruise lines (Royal Caribbean International); and airlines (American Airlines and Singapore Airlines); launched resorts (Fontainebleau Miami Beach); and opened theme parks (The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resorts), as well as hotel brands (Marriott, Wyndham, Sonesta).

He also has experience in crisis communications and brand reputation management.

Prior to joining Weber Shandwick, Mack was a vice president at Lou Hammond & Associates. He also spent five years at Porter/Novelli.
