Rochester Ad Agency Buys Local PR Firm

Roberts Communications, a Rochester-based advertising agency best known for its business-to-business work, has acquired Saphar & Associates, one of the area’s largest independent public relations firms.

ROCHESTER—Roberts Communications, a Rochester-based advertising agency best known for its business-to-business work, has acquired Saphar & Associates, one of the area’s largest independent public relations firms.

The Roberts/Saphar Public Relations Group will offer support for product launches and publicity programs; corporate media relations; issues-management consulting, including crisis communications; and executive speechwriting and spokesperson training.

Saphar clients, include the law firm of Faraci & Lange, CGR’s Institute for Competitive State Government, LeChase Companies, Los Angeles World Airports and the Rump Group.

“PR is becoming increasingly important to clients, as they look to maximize the impact of their communications,” said Paul Hudson, CEO of Roberts Communications. “The new team will seize this market opportunity by building on Roberts’ existing capabilities to offer, without question, the area’s most experienced PR team.”

As a result of the acquisition, Saphar’s operations and account staff will be consolidated into Roberts’ organization. Roberts/Saphar PR will be managed by Chip Partner, current Saphar president. The group will also serve West Coast clients from its office in Thousand Oaks, Cal.
