LOS ANGELES—Rogers & Cowan has been selected by Advanstar Communications, a worldwide media company, to manage public relations for the 2010 Licensing International Expo, one of the leading licensing events in the world. Rogers & Cowan was selected for its expertise in media relations, strategic planning and social media.

Celebrating its 30th year, Licensing International Expo is a global marketplace for leveraging brand and property equity for new licensed consumer products. The show brings together nearly 20,000 senior retail and manufacturing executives from more than 82 countries.

Rogers & Cowan will help increase the profile of Licensing International Expo as it celebrates its second year and will utilize social media tools to help media outlets cover all significant news from the show. Rogers & Cowan’s senior vice president Wendy Zaas will lead the campaign from the agency’s Los Angeles office.

“We needed an agency partner that could help us leverage our new home in Las Vegas and draw new vertical industries to this year’s show,” says Liz Crawford, show director. “The Rogers & Cowan team was able to demonstrate a grasp of the licensing and the tradeshow industry and displayed creative ideas with sound social and traditional media tactics for this year’s show.”
