LOS ANGELES, May 14—Just one month after a bankruptcy trustee appointed a committee of Pacific Gas & Electric creditors to represent 30,000 claimants in the utility’s Chapter 11 filing, the committee has reportedly selected Los Angeles-based Rogers & Associates to represent the creditors in the case against the company.

In April, U.S. trustee Linda Ekstrom Stanley selected 11 creditors who collectively will serve as the decision makers for those who have unsecured claims against the utility. The creditors on the committee include Enron Corporation, Bank of New York, Merrill Lynch, and several smaller companies, including Davey Tree Company, which trims trees from around the company’s power lines.

PG&E filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection after the California energy crisis left the company $9 billion in debt.
