NEW YORK—The Center for Commercialization of Advanced Technology has selected Ruder Finn to provide public relations counsel. CCAT is a congressionally funded, public-private collaborative partnership between academia, industry, and government that aims to identify, evaluate, fund and accelerate the development of homeland security technologies that can be applied by both the government and the private sector.
The Ruder Finn corporate and financial group will be responsible for developing and implementing public relations initiatives on behalf of CCAT and its clients. It will provide strategic communications counsel and media relations.
Ruder Finn already has several clients in the homeland security sector, including ORINCON Corporation International, a defense contractor, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Ruder Finn Interactive recently designed and launched the Department of Homeland Security’s website.
“Strategic insight and demonstrated effectiveness with the major media, along with Ruder Finn’s deep understanding of both the defense sector and homeland defense issues greatly impacted our selection decision,” said Lou Kelly, Chairman of CCAT. “
The CCAT account team will be led by Montieth Illingworth, executive vice president and Steven Hickok, senior account executive.
