WASHINGTON, D.C.—Following the appointment last month of Neil Dhillon as managing director in its Washington, D.C., office, Ruder Finn has hired John Doyle, as senior vice president in the same office. He will direct the agency’s public policy communications group and report directly to Dhillon.

Prior to joining Ruder Finn, Doyle was senior vice president at Berman & Company, a marketing, research and communications firm with strong ties to the hospitality, retail and food and beverage industries. He has also served as executive director of the American Beverage Institute, a restaurant and beverage industry trade association, and was managing director of the Employment Policies Institute, a non-profit think tank specializing in labor policy.

Doyle will help expand the firm’s public policy communications group, building on its healthcare, corporate technology, institutional/non-profit and marketing practices. He will develop the firm’s coalition-based public affairs programs, public policy communications capabilities, and grassroots networks.
