BEIJING—Ruder Finn has promoted Jean-Michel Dumont to chairman of Ruder Finn Asia. His current remit covering North Asia will expand to cover the rest of Asia as Louise Harris, who relocated to New York last year, moves up to take on additional global responsibilities at Ruder Finn’s headquarters.
In his new role, Dumont will be responsible for the growth and development of Ruder Finn Asia, to put in place the strategy and steps for Ruder Finn’s next phase in the region.
Dumont has been based in Greater China since 1986. He joined Ruder Finn in 2001 after over 12 years with Edelman China, where he was ultimately managing director of the Shanghai office. His experience in China includes work on accounts such as the Beijing 2000 Olympic Bid Committee, France '95 Consumer Exhibition and France'97 Hi-tech Exhibition and the launches of Louis Vuitton and Vidal Sassoon.
Ruder Finn Asia operations include offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Singapore and have grown an average of 25 percent per annum since 2001. The firm now employs more than 180 people in the region, serving brands from the LVMH Group and Richemont Group such as Hennessy X.O, Veuve Clicquot, Dunhill, Vacheron Constantin and Cartier, as well as Hermes, Bang & Olufsen, Harley-Davidson and Audi; healthcare clients such as Li Ning, Roche, and MSD; and corporate clients Michelin, Boeing, BP, Bayer, DHL, Visa and Emirates.
