NEW YORK—Ruder Finn has been named public relations agency of record for the U.S. Pavilion at the 2005 World Exposition in Aichi, Japan. Aichi USA 2005 World Exposition, the organization overseeing the U.S. presence at the Expo, hired the firm to support communications programs for the U.S. Pavilion.

“The U.S. participation in the World Expo is a reflection of our country’s commitment to Japan relations and as a world citizen,” says Doug West, president and chief executive officer of the Aichi USA 2005 World Exposition. “Ruder Finn’s strategic approach to global communications combined with its leadership and experience in working with national and international business media makes them an ideal partner as momentum and excitement build around our country’s prominent role in this important event.”

Ruder Finn will implement several programs to raise awareness about the U.S. Pavilion and related activities, including its interactive exhibition and cultural programs. The firm will also support the U.S. Pavilion sponsors, including several leading corporations and individual states.

The account will be managed out of the San Francisco office of Ruder Finn and will be led by its managing director Jessica Switzer, and Brandee Barker, management supervisor. Ruder Finn will partner with Cosmo Public Relations in Tokyo to provide on-the-ground support in the Japanese market.
