LONDON—Following the departure of co-regional president Kevin Bell, Fleishman-Hillard has named John Saunders, previously regional president for continental Europe and Ireland to an EMEA leadership role with additional responsibility for the firm’s operations in the United Kingdom and Africa. Saunders has served in leadership positions within Fleishman-Hillard for more than 20 years.
Saunders, who resides in Dublin, co-founded Pembroke Public Relations in 1982. He established Fleishman-Hillard Saunders in 1990 and it became a wholly owned office of Fleishman-Hillard in 2001. Saunders was named regional director for continental Europe and Ireland in 2004, and regional president for the firm’s operations in Europe and Eurasia in 2007. He is also a member of the senior management committee, which is responsible for Fleishman-Hillard’s strategic direction.
Saunders is a member of the European Association of Communications Directors, a Fellow of the Public Relations Institute of Ireland, and former Chairman of the Public Relations Consultants Association of Ireland. He served as president of The International Communications Consulting Organization from 2005-2007 and is a former staff journalist with the Irish state broadcaster, Radio Telefis Eireann.
