Savage Named COO at Ogilvy Australia Parent STW

STW Communications Group Limited, Australia’s leading marketing communications services group and parent company to Ogilvy Public Relations operations in Australia, has named Chris Savage to the newly created role of chief operating officer.

SYDNEY—STW Communications Group Limited, Australia’s leading marketing communications services group and parent company to Ogilvy Public Relations operations in Australia, has named Chris Savage to the newly created role of chief operating officer, responsible for leveraging growth opportunities within STW’s existing stable of 75 companies.

 

Savage has been with the STW Group for eight years, most recently as head of the specialist communications division, made up of more than 20 non-advertising businesses.

 

Savage joined the STW Group in 2000 as founding managing partner in the creation of Ogilvy Public Relations, a joint venture between STW and WPP’s Ogilvy PR Worldwide, which includes seven specialist PR firms under the Ogilvy banner. Savage is also co-founder of specialist financial PR firm Savage & Horrigan (now Savage & Partners), a wholly owned part of Ogilvy PR Australia. He remains chairman of both Ogilvy PR and Savage & Partners.

 

Prior to joining Ogilvy PR in 2000, Savage spent 15 years with PR firm Burson-Marsteller, and was chief executive of the firm’s Australian businesses as well as vice chairman of its Asia Pacific operations.
