LONDON--Data and networking company Savvis has selected Firefly as its public relations agency for the EMEA region following a competitive pitch.

The US company has charged Firefly with developing an integrated communications brief for the UK and Germany, using dedicated teams in Firefly’s London and Munich offices.

The programme – encompassing content development, media and analyst relations, PR counsel and social media – aims to drive awareness of Savvis’ colocation, managed hosting and cloud service proposition across government, enterprise and financial services markets.

Savvis, which was purchased by CenturyLink in 2011, currently operates more than 50 data centres globally throughout Europe, Asia and North America, with infrastructure extending to 45 countries.

Firefly reports to Gill Hawkins, director of marketing communications at Savvis EMEA.

“Firefly has proven to be a PR agency with the contacts and creative ideas that we anticipate will enhance Savvis’ communications strategy in Europe," said Hawkins.

"Firefly’s analytical insight about our business and industry, ability to demonstrate the results and impact of its efforts, and enthusiasm to help us greatly enhance Savvis’ growing reputation in EMEA for outsourced IT solutions, were key factors in the decision to work together.”
