NEW YORK—Magnet Communications, formed last year by the merger of Creamer Dickson Basford and Kratz & Jensen, has named Lynn Schulman senior vice president as national crisis director. Shulman’s responsibilities will include crisis preparedness and communications, developing a function agency president Darryl Salerno says is part of the firm’s “ongoing commitment to help clients successfully deal with crises and other sensitive issues.”

Shulman’s experience includes 20 years in crisis and issues management and litigation public relations, working with clients including New York Life Insurance, TRW, Samsung Electronics, Lexis-Nexis, American Home Products, and Simon & Schuster. 

She served as associate executive director for public information for the New York City Emergency Medical Service and ran her own business before joining Edelman Public Relations Worldwide as senior VP in 1995. She formed her own communications firm in 1998, working with clients include OnHealth.com and the St. Barnabas Hospital Network before rejoining the Edelman family as a member of the management team at PR21
