Schwartz Adds Healthcare Expert to West Coast Office

Schwartz Communications has hired Steve Cragle has joined the company as a senior vice president in its San Francisco office. Cragle will report directly to Gary Thompson, general manager and executive vice president.

WALTHAM, MA—Schwartz Communications has hired Steve Cragle has joined the company as a senior vice president in its San Francisco office. Cragle will report directly to Gary Thompson, general manager and executive vice president of Schwartz’s West Coast office.

Cragle, who joins from Ketchum, has a track record of developing successful positioning, branding and public relations programs for biotechnology, biopharmaceutical, diagnostic and device companies. His therapeutic expertise includes experience in oncology, hematology, immunology, neurology, infectious diseases and diagnostics.

“Schwartz’s healthcare practice and West Coast office have expanded significantly in the past year,” says Steve Schwartz, president. “Healthcare, medical device and biotechnology accounts now comprise a third of our business, and Steve Cragle will be a major asset as we continue to grow in those markets and expand our West Coast operations.”

Prior to joining Schwartz, Cragle was group vice president for Ketchum’s West Coast healthcare communications practice where he oversaw a practice that included Genentech, Roche Molecular Diagnostics, Celera, Abbott Laboratories and Medtronic. He has also served as vice president and group head of Edelman San Francisco’s healthcare practice.
