Meltwater acquires social search engine; DS Simon opens in Washington; PR.com adds news site; ImpreMedia forms new partnership.

LONDON—The Meltwater Group, a leading online media intelligence company, has acquired IceRocket, a social search engine. Together, the companies will provide public relations, marketing, communications and advertising professionals with a comprehensive set of tools for monitoring, analysing and engaging in relevant conversations across social channels. All of IceRocket’s employees will join Meltwater.

NEW YORK—D S Simon Productions is opening a Washington, DC, office to be headed by Christine Deerin and has named industry veteran Ken Fry as senior vice president operating out of the Los Angeles office. Deerin, who previously ran D S Simon’s satellite media tour group in New York and directed the firm’s West Coast operations has been named vice president, Washington, DC, operations.

The application is designed to conduct and enhance market research through customized polls that capture and analyze data providing insights into consumer trends and preferences.
