Silbey Joins Carmen Group to Lead Gov't Oversight Unit

Franklin Silbey has joined Carmen Group to head its new government oversight unit, which will help clients create strategic communications plans addressing areas of interest to government inquiries and investigations.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Franklin Silbey has joined Carmen Group to head its new government oversight unit, which will help clients create strategic communications plans addressing areas of interest to government inquiries and investigations. In addition, Margaret Lauderback has joined firm to lead the firm’s new technology practice, which will help clients navigate the federal legislative and regulatory environment while implementing successful federal marketing programs.

Says CEO David Carmen: “The 110th Congress has promised significant government oversight activity. Carmen Group contributes insight and experience with the investigative process to help clients understand and cooperate with congressional goals before they reach an adversarial, defensive juncture.”

Silbey has 17 years of specialized House and Senate staff experience, spending time as chief of investigations for the Senate Labor Committee under Senator Orrin Hatch. Most recently he was president of Franklin R. Silbey Associates, specializing in congressional investigations, federal investigations, corporate investigations and international research.

Margaret Lauderback comes to Carmen Group from the NYSE Group, where she was vice president of government relations. Previously, she was vice president of the Technology Network (TechNet), a network of CEOs that promotes the growth of technology and the innovation economy.
