WASHINGTON, D.C.—Infotech Strategies, an information and communication technology firm, has merged its public affairs practices with Simon Strategies and Mindbeam. Infotech’s senior vice president for public relations, John Raffetto, will work alongside Greg Simon and Kristan Van Hook, who led the two technology-focused firms.

The merged firm will have expertise in public affairs, public relations, marketing, coalition- and alliance-building, and business consulting services under one roof. It will also add a biotechnology practice within Infotech’s existing healthcare portfolio.

“We believe our five years of growth prove businesses can’t get enough of blended strategic services from firms like ours,” says Ken Kay, co-chairman of Infotech Strategies. “Companies want our special expertise in the high-tech sector and want their public relations, strategy and public affairs services to be rooted in knowledge of the high-tech sector. Greg and Kristan will help us advance this thriving business model even further.”

Simon was formerly chief domestic policy advisor to Vice President Al Gore. Van Hook is a former legislative affairs director for the Commerce Department’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration. Raffetto was a Republican lobbyist and public affairs specialist working for telecom and high-tech clients at Podesta Associates.
