Smith Named Equity Partner at Widmeyer

Widmeyer Communications has named Jason Smith, a 12-year veteran of the firm, as an equity partner. Smith, who began his career at Widmeyer as an account manager, has led Widmeyer’s growing Pre-K-12 practice for the past five years

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Widmeyer Communications has named Jason Smith, a 12-year veteran of the firm, as an equity partner. Smith, who began his career at Widmeyer as an account manager, has led Widmeyer’s growing Pre-K-12 practice for the past five years and has extensive education experience in both the private and public sectors.

 

Other partner-principals at Widmeyer include president and CEO Joe Clayton and Margaret Dunning as chief strategy officer.

 

Smith has led some of Widmeyer’s largest and most visible social marketing and public education engagements, including the award-winning “Stop Bullying Now!” public awareness campaign for the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services and the recently released National Math Panel’s final report. He began his career on Capitol Hill, where he worked for Rep. Virginia Smith (R-NE) and Sen. Terry Sanford (D-NC).
