LONDON — San Francisco-based social media marketing platform Tint has selected Weber Shandwick as its European PR agency of record following a competitive review.

The two-year old company, whose social display products are used by thousands of companies worldwide, is aiming to step up growth in the region, after hiring Stuart Thompson as European director.

Weber secures the six-figure brief following a pitch that saw it prevail over Ketchum and Atomic PR in the final round.

"The marketing world is slowly waking up to the fact that social media aggregation isn’t just about Twitter walls," said Thompson. "There are hundreds of other smart, creative ways to curate social media content across different channels and geographies that can help a brand leverage its social equity and drive online and offline engagement with different audiences."

Weber Shandwick will oversee strategic comms, media relations and event support designed to build Tint's social curation, aggregation and display offer among brands and agencies in Europe.

"We already have a number of strong partnerships and brands in Europe including Guinness, Yamaha," said Thompson, noting such clients as the England Rugby Team, AKQA and PWC. "Our goal is to accelerate this growth in the region over the course of the next twelve months and beyond, and we see Weber Shandwick as the perfect partner to help us accomplish this."

The account will be led by Weber Shandwick London associate director and ad tech lead Joe Walton.

"Not only are we delighted to be named the company’s European agency of record, we’re also excited to explore the ways Weber Shandwick and our sister agencies can leverage the technology internally and with other clients," said Walton.
