Soderberg Named CEO of Edelman's Spanish Operations

Edelman has appointed Jan Soderberg as the CEO of its Spanish operations, which consist of the firm’s Madrid and Barcelona offices. Soderberg founded Fleishman-Hillard’s Spanish operations.

MADRID—Edelman has appointed Jan Soderberg as the CEO of its Spanish operations, which consist of the firm’s Madrid and Barcelona offices. Soderberg, who was most recently working as an independent communications consultant, founded Fleishman-Hillard’s Spanish operations. 

Rosa Matias will continue in her role as managing director for Spain working alongside Jordi Ballera, director of the Madrid office and Blanca Fullana and Georgina Teixido, co-directors of the office in Barcelona.

Soderberg assumes responsibility for an operation with 38 people accounting for 2.8 million Euros in fees last year. The firm has recently added several new clients including Global Switch, Antibióticos de León, Galileo, Arvora Ausonia, Boeringher Ingelheim and Novartis, joining an existing roster that includes Pfizer, BDF Nivea, British Airways and Footlocker.

During his time at Fleishman-Hillard, Soderberg—a native of Sweden—worked on clients such as Compañía de Bebidas, PepsiCo-España (Gatorade), Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette, Endesa, General Dynamics, Honeywell, and Intel Iberia. His areas of expertise include corporate communications, marketing, crisis management and internal communications.

Previously he was a senior consultant and board member at Grupo K Comunicación, one of Spain’s leading marketing and communications agencies and held senior level positions at Sanchís & Asociados and Hill & Knowlton.
