NEW DELHI—Sony India has awarded PR duties to Avian Media following a competitive review that featured a number of competing firms.

Avian's PR mandate includes re-iterating and emphasizing Sony’s business strengths and technology leadership, as well as building online advocacy amongst relevant stakeholders. Sony had previously worked with FleishmanHillard in India.

"We wanted a public relations partner which has a deep understanding of our sector and could support us strategically to meet our business goals," said Ryusuke Fukushima, deputy GM of marketing communications at Sony India.

India is one of Sony's largest markets, thanks to strong demand for its consumer electronics products.

"A new win in the space where our rich experience and expertise provides us a winning edge over competition will further augment and strengthen our position in the market," said Avian Media CEO Nitin Mantri.

The account is the latest in a string of new business wins for Avian Media, which has also included Ebay and BMW.
