MADRID—Iberian communication consultancy Llorente & Cuenca hired Joan Navarro as vice-president and senior director of public affairs in Spain and María Cura as Managing director of the Barcelona office. Meanwhile Carlos Suárez, who most recently served as head of the Barcelona office, is joining the team in Madrid as director responsible for developing the company's new strategic projects in the Spanish market.

Navarro most recently served as director and spokesman of the Coalition of Audiovisual Content Industries & Creatives, steering the strategy of the industry in dealing with digital piracy in Spain. Earlier, he was director of institutional relations at ACUAMED (the public water corporation for the Mediterranean basins), responsible for the department of communication and campaigns, internal communication, institutional conflict resolution and management of the state enterprise's corporate social responsibility strategy.
