SANTO DOMINGO--Emerging markets consultancy Speyside Corporate Relations is launching a new office in the Dominican Republic, to help it provide regional support to clients Trafigura and Citi.

The new office in Santo Domingo will coordinate corporate work for both clients. It is headed by Eve Hayes de Kalaf, who previously worked on regional projects in collaboration with the United Nations, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.

The office marks Speyside’s fourth in the region, since entering Latin America three years ago. Speyside was established in 2009 by ex-MMD leaders Ian Herbison and Alistair McLeish, and has focused its efforts on providing corporate and government relations support across 12 markets in the region.

“The launch of this fourth office comes in response to the increase in demand for a pan-regional network,” said Herbison. “Since our launch in 2009 we have quickly expanded to cover 12 countries in the Latin American region, with offices in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia –and now the Caribbean. Throughout Latin America, we are promoting an organic growth vision that combines local knowledge with international expertise.”

Other clients in the region include Mars and Visa.
