BRUSSELS—Manning Selvage & Lee has appointed Peter Steere as head of public affairs for MS&L Europe. Steere, who will be based in Brussels, will work closely with the agency’s London, Paris, Frankfurt and Milan offices to develop public affairs services across Europe.  He will also counsel MS&L’s global clients on public affairs strategies and help both new and existing clients navigate the regulatory and communication environment in Brussels.

Steere was most recently director of strategic communications for Europe, the Middle East and Africa for APCO Worldwide, a position he accepted in July of this year. Prior to that, he was with the JKL Group, one of the leading strategic communications firms in the Nordic region. Both JKL and Manning Selvage & Lee are part of the Publicis Groupe.

“Peter has extensive knowledge of a variety of national and international issues impacting the region,” said Anders Kempe, president of MS&L Europe.  “He also has experience and understanding for communicating complex business issues and market dynamics to a wide range of stakeholders in a broad spectrum of industries including advanced technology, telecom, finance, consumer electronics, energy and heavy industry.  His appointment will enhance our value to both current and potential clients.”

Steere’s appointment is the latest in a series of growth announcements for MS&L Europe.  Earlier this year, MS&L opened offices in Stockholm and Oslo and aligned JKL into its global structure.
