CHICAGO—Hill & Knowlton USA has named Sean Murphy senior vice president and director of corporate communications for its Chicago office. Murphy will lead one of H&K’s core practice groups, specializing in corporate reputation management and positioning, financial communications, crisis management, litigation support, labor relations, corporate social responsibility and internal communications.
Also joining H&K Chicago’s corporate practice is Jennifer Eidson, who was named senior vice president. In 1991, Murphy and Eidson were co-founders of Summit Consulting Group, a Chicago-based public affairs and corporate communications consultancy, which was acquired by Huntsworth’s Global Consulting Group in 2004.
Murphy and Eidson are both H&K alums. Murphy began his public relations career at Hill & Knowlton Chicago, later becoming vice president and group director. Eidson also began her career at Hill & Knowlton Chicago, where she was a vice president, supervising corporate communications and consumer marketing programs.
Murphy specializes in corporate reputation management and CEO positioning, and has advised top management of Fortune 500 companies including Commonwealth Edison, GE Capital Corp., Helene Curtis, Leo Burnett and MCI. Eidson is a specialist in corporate communications and public affairs, with extensive experience in corporate reputation and issues management.
