DALLAS—The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, one of the leading private funders of breast cancer research and community outreach programs, has selected Weber Shandwick as its public relations agency of record.

Weber Shandwick’s Dallas office will lead the account and work with the Komen Foundation to plan and implement an integrated communications campaign to reinforce its position as “the most trusted and well-respected breast cancer organization.”  Weber Shandwick offices in New York and Washington, D.C., and multicultural public relations firm Axis Agency, a unit of the Interpublic Group of Companies, will work on the account, providing corporate reputation management, media relations, multicultural outreach and event management support.

“We were looking to partner with a firm who could serve as a true extension of our communications department, particularly as we near key milestones including our 25th anniversary,” says Susan Carter, director of communications for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. “We believe that Weber Shandwick has a unique team approach along with the creativity to address our exact needs.”
