NEW YORK—Golin/Harris International has been selected to provide public relations counsel to Symbol Technologies, a leading wireless and mobile technology company. Golin will work with sister agency Draft Worldwide, which specializes in direct marketing, on an integrated account that is believed to be worth around $10 million.

“Symbol’s internal marketing communications team strives to maintain a consistent message and maximize our communications objectives,” says Tony Wilson, vice president of marketing communications. “In conducting our agency search our primary concern was to find a team that would mirror the integration goals that Symbol is pursuing. We chose the combination of DraftWorldwide and Golin/Harris International because it was the agency team that provided a truly integrated marketing and communications program, one that would ensure a cogent and coherent message across all of our communications channels.”

Also competing for the business was a team from Omnicom, including Porter Novelli, and another team that included WPP’s Alexander Ogilvy unit.
