Taser Hires Holran to Lead Communications

Taser International, which manufactures electronic devices for use in the law enforcement, military, and personal protection markets, has hired Peter Holran as vice president of public relations and government affairs.

SCOTTSDALE, AZ—Taser International, which manufactures electronic devices for use in the law enforcement, military, and personal protection markets, has hired Peter Holran as vice president of public relations and government affairs.

Before joining Taser International, Holran was vice president at Dittus Communications, where he worked on public affairs and crisis management for Taser and other clients. Prior to his work at Dittus, Holran spent nearly a decade at Wexler & Walker Public Policy Associates, a Washington D.C., lobbying firm, where he led the team that managed both federal and state lobbying efforts for Taser International.

Thomas Smith, chairman of the company’s board of directors had previously overseen public relations and government affairs as well. Over the next six months, those duties will be transferred to Holran and Smith will assume a more traditional role as chairman and will continue to serve on Taser’s strategic leadership team.
