LOS ANGELES—The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, best known as the organization behind the Emmy Awards, and the Television Academy Foundation have hired two public relations firms to represent them: Interpublic-owned entertainment marketing specialist BNC and Los Angeles-based entertainment and technology boutique Beck Media & Marketing.

The two will replace the Lippin Group, which resigned the business in August after 12 years.

BNC will handle media relations on behalf of ATAS and its events, including the 2010 Primetime Emmy Awards, the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards, Television Hall of Fame ceremonies and TV Academy Honors. Beck will represent the TV Academy Foundation and its programs, including the Archive of American Television, the College Television Awards and annual Golf Tournament and Charity Auction events.
