SAN FRANCISCO—Blanc & Otus, the technology public relations consultancy subsidiary of Hill & Knowlton, has named Mark Hampton chief executive officer. Hampton, formerly with Text 100, replaces Greg Spector, who left earlier this year to join Swedish mobile telecommunications services company Rebtel in an in-house communications role.
As CEO and president of Blanc & Otus, Hampton will continue to drive financial growth, and provide guidance and leadership to B&O offices located in Austin, Boston, London and its San Francisco headquarters.
Prior to joining B&O, Hampton worked as the senior vice president at Text 100, spending eight years with the company. Early in his career, he helped develop Text 100 by setting up and running a new office in Palo Alto, with revenues built to $1.5 million within first nine months, while simultaneously expanding the San Francisco office. He has worked with technology clients including Microsoft, IBM, Philips and Motorola.
“Blanc & Otus has a significant opportunity to expand its footprint and brand recognition in the coming years,” says Hampton. “At the heart of this expansion will be a greater commitment to investing in the professional development of Blanc & Otus employees who drive the culture and success of the business, as well as continuing to extend our expertise and commitment to new and existing clients within the company’s business-to-business, consumer and emerging technologies practices.”
