NEW YORK—The North Face, a leading supplier of exploration apparel, footwear and equipment, has retained Ruder Finn as agency of record. The assignment includes brand and corporate communications and will draw the expertise of Ruder Finn’s New York and San Francisco consumer practices.

“We are confident that Ruder Finn will help expand awareness of the innovation and authenticity of The North Face brand and products,” said Michael Egeck, president. “The agency’s compelling consumer marketing and fitness-related experience in building authentic brands convinced us that Ruder Finn is the right agency partner for The North Face.”

The agency’s first major project is the launch of its first East coast retail store in late March. Ruder Finn is responsible for developing and implementing event planning, media relations and promotions for the store launch and subsequent in-store athlete appearances and events.

The North Face account team will be led by Mary Trudel, executive vice president, and will be managed by Wheatley Ann Marshall, account supervisor.
