NEW YORK—Travelport Limited, one of the world’s largest travel conglomerates, has hired Dirk Vande Beek as senior vice president of government affairs. He will provide strategic direction and manage relationships with governments and international organizations and lead the company’s global public affairs programs. He will report to Eric Bock, executive vice president and general counsel.

Vande Beek joins Travelport from CA, formerly Computer Associates, where he was instrumental in creating and managing its government relations function both as a consultant and, from 2004 until recently, as CA’s vice president of global government relations. Previously, he was vice president of public relations for The Coca-Cola Company and global manager of public relations at the Halliburton Company.

His experience in Washington D.C. includes serving as the director of communications and press secretary for Vice President Dick Cheney in the 2000 Presidential Campaign.

Travelport operates three primary businesses: global distribution systems under the Galileo and Worldspan brands; supplier services and data analysis through Shepherd Systems; and a group travel and wholesale hotel business, GTA. Travelport also owns a controlling interest in Orbitz Worldwide.
