LONDON—European telecommunications company Colt, which specializes in providing data, voice and managed services to midsize and major businesses and wholesale customers, has appointed Trimedia Communications as its public relations consultancy to handle marketing PR activities at a pan-European level as well as locally in the 13 countries where Colt operates.

Colt selected Trimedia following a competitive pitch, and assignments are underway at Colt’s international headquarters in London as well as in the U.K., the Netherlands and Germany. Between now and the end of the year, Colt operations across Europe are expected to engage local Trimedia teams. The firm, a unit of Huntsworth, has its own operations in 11 of the 13 countries where Colt has a presence.

According to Mark Savage, Colt’s director of group communications, “Trimedia was a perfect match for us in terms of its geographic spread, its response to the challenges we set and its approach to handling clients in a large number of territories.”

Colt is one of the first pan-European business wins for Trimedia, which has been expanding rapidly, adding five new offices last year after Huntsworth acquired Citigate and transferred some of its continental European office to the Trimedia operation, previously best known for its work in the German-speaking markets and the U.K. Earlier this year, the firm acquired public affairs firm Eurotandem, expanding its presence in France.
