VERBIER—A trio of former Young & Rubicam and Burson-Marsteller executives have launched Woodscannon Switzerland, an integrated communications firm affiliated with the 25-year-old Australian firm of the same name.

Managing director Ben Pankhurst and creative director Gretchen Morris both worked with Y&R in Geneva, while communications director Tom Maginnis has worked for B-M in New York, Richmond and Geneva, supporting a number of multinational clients in the areas of issues management and corporate communications.

Commenting on the firm’s choice of location, Pankhurst says: “There was really never any discussion about it. We could have based ourselves in Geneva or Lausanne, but the benefits of being in Verbier are too many. In our business it is paramount that every day you go into work you feel inspired and free to create. Opening an office in Verbier will allow us to serve clients throughout Suisse Romande, a prospect which is all the more exciting considering the mix of large multinationals, international organizations and local Swiss companies present in the region.”
