STAMFORD, CT—Tronox, one of the world's largest producers and marketer of titanium dioxide pigment for use in paint and coatings, plastics, and paper, has appointed Bud Grebey as vice president of corporate communications and David Silverman as corporate communications manager.

In his new position, Grebey oversees all aspects of global corporate affairs for Tronox including media relations, corporate responsibility, employee communications, reputation management, social media, and government affairs. He reports to the company’s chief administrative officer, Robert Gibney and is based in Stamford.

Grebey comes to Tronox from the New York City public relations firm Maloney & Fox, where he served as an executive vice president. He also had served as the corporate and consumer practice lead and New York general manager for Waggener Edstrom Worldwide, the parent company of Maloney & Fox.

Prior to his work with the agencies, he was vice president of communications and marketing for Sikorsky Aircraft, a division of United Technologies Corp., and held senior communications positions with Siemens Corporation, Webvan.com, Levi Strauss & Company, and U.S. Windpower.

Silverman comes to Tronox from Joele Frank, Wilkinson Brimmer Katcher, where he provided strategic communications counsel to clients in a range of situations including mergers and acquisitions, shareholder activism, initial public offerings and crisis communications. Previously, Silverman served under House Majority Leader Eric Cantor in Washington, DC, for more than four years as a legislative aide and head speechwriter.
