COLOGNE—Mark Truby has been appointed vice president, communications and public affairs for Ford of Europe. He will be responsible for improving Ford’s reputation among all target audience, working with the sales and marketing team to help build purchase consideration for Ford models, and expanding the company’s communication capabilities and expertise.

Truby currently is executive director, communications and public affairs, Ford of Europe. He joined Ford in 2007 to lead the corporate news team in Dearborn, Mich., following a career as a journalist and business editor.

Current vice president, communications and public affairs for Europe, Ian Slater is retiring from Ford at the end of September after more than 30 years’ service with the company. He joined Ford in 1980 and, during his career, has served in a number of increasingly senior positions in communications and public affairs both in Europe and the U.S.
