TV Industry Veteran O'Connor Joins Ogilvy in Media Relations Role

Mark O’Connor has joined Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide as senior vice president of media relations. In his new role, O’Connor will be part of the firm’s national media relations team, working closely with practice leaders to enhance media relations efforts.

NEW YORK—Mark O’Connor has joined Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide as senior vice president of media relations. In his new role, O’Connor will be part of the firm’s national media relations team, working closely with practice leaders to enhance media relations efforts for existing clients.

Prior to joining Ogilvy PR, O’Connor was vice president of public relations for the Food Network, responsible for all programming and talent media relations, as well as corporate and industry relations. He worked on campaigns including the network’s 10th Anniversary, the launch of Iron Chef America and the network’s most-watched program in its history, The Next Food Network Star. Most recently, he launched the network’s first public affairs program with Share Our Strength, a national hunger-relief agency.

O’Connor previously served as the director of communications for MSNBC; an account director for Goodman Media International; a New York based entertainment press representative with CBS Entertainment; and a senior publicist with CNN.
