NEW YORK—Porter Novelli has added Joe Russo to its strategic planning and research team as executive vice president and global director of research. Russo will develop new strategic research capabilities and leverage the agency’s talent and expertise across its global network to enhance client communication programs and help them understand and reach the right stakeholders. Russo will report to Michael Ramah, specialty leader for strategic planning and research.
“There is a growing need for more research rigor and strategic planning with our clients,” says Ramah. “Joe will help drive the agency’s global teams to adopt a harmonized approach to leverage audience and performance data across industries, disciplines and specialties.”
Russo has previously held senior roles at Unilever, and was most recently vice president, knowledge management and center of excellence leader at Cadbury Schweppes Americas Beverages, where his work helped in the transformation of the organization’s beverage portfolio, and building enterprise-wide practices that impact marketing strategy and new product development.
Russo has also chaired the Marketing ROI Council and is involved in professional organizations such as the Conference Board and Advertising Research Foundation.
