ATLANTA—United Egg Producers has selected Golin/Harris International as its agency of record. The firm will handle crisis and issues management, as well as the promotion of UEP’s animal care certified program.
The UEP represents nearly all egg producers in the United States. The animal care certified program is a nationwide initiative launched by the UEP to assure retailers and consumers that egg producers are following modern, accepted standards in the care of their egg-laying flocks. Producers must commit to meet 100 percent of the requirements and agree to periodic, independent audits before they are allowed to place the Animal Care Certified seal of approval on their egg packaging.
Golin/Harris was hired by the UEP after a review of five agencies. The account will be handled out of the firm’s Atlanta office with support from other offices as needed. The program will include a variety of PR tactics including research, media relations, video, internet and grocery and food retailer communications.
