NEW YORK—The USO has hired CKPR as its public relations agency of record. A new communications campaign will help build awareness among the American public of the ways the organization supports troops, from celebrity entertainment tours to morale support at more than 130 locations around the world.

The USO is a nonprofit, charitable organization devoted to offering a home away from home to U.S. service members and their families at locations around the world.

CKPR’s New York office will be responsible for everything from national and regional media relations to special events and strategic partnership planning with the goal of increasing awareness, understanding and support for the USO among the general public. CKPR will work in close partnership with Williams Whittle Associates of Alexandria, Va., the USO’s advertising agency of record.

“CKPR came to us with a very clear, smart strategy to help us connect our brand with the American public,” says Ned Powell, president and CEO of the USO. “CKPR also demonstrated that it shares our unbridled passion for ensuring that the USO mission is in place for our troops and their families until every one comes home.”
