AMSTERDAM—Fleishman-Hillard International Communications has named Karen van Bergen senior vice president and regional director for Central Europe, responsible for the management of the Fleishman-Hillard offices in Amsterdam, Prague, Warsaw, and Moscow, as well as growing the agency in the central and eastern European region. She will be based in Amsterdam and report to John Saunders, regional president for continental Europe, Ireland, and Eurasia.

“I see considerable growth potential in Central and Eastern Europe” says president and CEO Dave Senay. “Many of our clients are making their inroads into this region and are requesting our presence there.”

Van Bergen spent the last 12 years with McDonald’s, where she served as chief of staff to the European president and held responsibility for corporate communications and CSR, as well as managing government and franchise relations for the region.
