NEW DELHI — Edelman has hired Vodafone's Amit Narayan for the newly-created role of reputation head in India.
Narayan joins Edelman India after spending the past five years with Vodafone Asia-Pacific in Hong Kong and Singapore, where he was external communications lead. He will report to Edelman India MD Rakesh Thukral.
The new role sees Narayan focus on leading reputation management programmes for Edelman clients across sectors. "His experience is the perfect foundation for the broader role and focus we envision in reorganizing our business around brand and reputation management," said Thukral. "He will play an integral role in our move towards making brand and reputation management the two key focus areas of our growth."
Prior to Vodafone, Narayan held senior Asia-Pacific communications roles at Disney and Cable & Wireless. Before that, he worked at Burson-Marsteller and Text 100.
"Reputation is the foundation on which every business is built now," said Narayan. "This is a very exciting time to be joining Edelman India as the firm transforms to better enable its clients to engage effectively with their audiences through the power of authentic communication, quality and creativity."
