NEW YORK—Volvo Cars of North America has selected Waggener Edstrom Worldwide as agency of record in the United States to support the brand's plans to refresh its lineup in the market.

Volvo’s long-term vision is rooted in its Sensus Connect platform, which is designed to push the boundaries of driver and vehicle interaction with cloud-enabled services. The company says it selected WE due to the agency's deep understanding of the brand, luxury lifestyle pedigree and roots in innovative technology.

"Their level of expertise in the tech, auto and luxury spaces is unparalleled, making them a natural fit for Volvo as we blaze new trails for design, sustainability, safety and driver experience," says Dean Shaw, vice president of corporate communications for Volvo Cars.

WE has released an independent research study that evaluates the public policy implications as cars become more connected, and has also hosted “Connected Car” events in San Francisco and Los Angeles, bringing together thought leaders representing the automotive, technology and consumer electronics industries.

The account will be managed by WE's New York-based lifestyle team, led by senior vice president Julie Levinthal and supported by WE's Connected Car Team, which interfaces with OEMs, suppliers and tech companies in the automotive space.
