SEATTLE—Waggener Edstrom Worldwide has entered the Australian market through an affiliation agreement with Buchan Consulting, one of the largest independent communication consultancies in Australia. The announcement is the second major expansion of Wagg Ed’s Asia-Pacific network in recent weeks, following its alliance with Indian corporate and financial public relations firm Adfactors.

The agreement by the firms will significantly broaden Buchan’s reach outside Australia, while providing Wagg Ed with a strong Australian presence and capability. Buchan represents global and publicly listed companies including ANZ Bank, QBE Insurance and Mercer and will work with Wagg Ed offices globally, with an emphasis on driving collaboration with WE’s Asia Pacific offices.

In addition, Wagg Ed and Buchan will both benefit from joint training programs and staff exchanges.

“WE and Buchan share a similar client-first and people-first culture and philosophy. We both committed to delivering best-in-class client service, strategic thinking and campaign execution,” says Claire Lematta, president of global strategies at Waggener Edstrom. “Together, we offer unparalleled experience in the technology, financial services and healthcare sectors. I look forward to seeing how we can apply our collective IP across our global portfolio.”
