SEATTLE—Waggener Edstrom Worldwide has added David Patton as editor in chief of its WE Studio D digital group, which works with global accounts to drive influence and conversation through digital and creative engagement.
Patton, who joins WE from The Wall Street Journal, brings more than 15 years of expertise in storytelling and understanding of how stories travel and resonate within digital and print media. While at The Wall Street Journal, Patton worked specifically with the publication’s online business, most recently as senior editor of WSJ.com.
Other positions he held at The Wall Street Journal include assistant managing editor and editorial director of the online business. His duties included creating and developing content for the website and managing the news team. He also worked to help WSJ.com make its content discoverable through outreach to the blogger community and adoption of new technologies such as RSS feeds, search engine optimization and social media tools.
