PARIS--Taxi-hailing smartphone app Taxibeat has hired Waggener Edstrom to support its launch in France.
The app initially launched in the startup's home market of Greece in mid-2011, before expanding to Brazil, Norway and Romania. Its French debut was announced at LeWeb 2012.
Waggener Edstrom is charged with leading integrated communications, driving brand awareness of Taxibeat in the French market.

The Taxibeat app enables users to locate taxis, select the driver of their choice and rate them once the ride is over. The company believes that its service improves taxi customer service, in comparison to competitors such as Hailo and Uber.
