Washington Media Group Hires Two Senior Execs

Washington Media Group, a corporate communications firm, has expanded its public affairs practice with the addition of two senior professionals and the acquisition of the Opinion Leader Network, an online advertising network.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Washington Media Group, a corporate communications firm, has expanded its public affairs practice with the addition of two senior professionals and the acquisition of the Opinion Leader Network, an online advertising network specializing in public affairs and advocacy campaigns.

Les Francis, previously an executive vice president at Goddard Claussen, has joined WMG as a principal. Francis has also served as a White House deputy chief of staff, executive director of the DNC, executive director of the DCCC, and the manager of dozens of candidate and ballot measure campaigns. He will be providing corporate and non-profit clients with strategic counsel and advocacy campaign direction.

John Leary, previously a vice president at Goddard Claussen, has joined WMG as executive vice president. Leary has also held senior positions with the American Medical Association, Edison Electric Institute, and DCCC and founded the Opinion Leader Network. Drawing on his experience in the health care and energy arenas, Leary will be providing clients with strategic counsel and leading WMG’s new media practice.
