NEW YORK—Connie Weaver is joining financial services giant TIAA-CREF as executive vice president, chief marketing and communications officer. She will oversee the company's marketing, brand management, advertising, market research and analytics, corporate communications, and digital strategy functions.
Weaver joins TIAA-CREF from The Hartford Financial Services Group, where she was senior vice president in charge of marketing and communications. Previously, she was executive vice president and chief marketing officer at BearingPoint and ended a ten-year career at AT&T in a similar post. She has also held senior positions in investor relations, communications, marketing and strategy with Microsoft, MCI Communications and McGraw-Hill.
Weaver will succeed Steve Goldstein, executive vice president for public affairs and marketing, when he steps down on June 30. After seven years at TIAA-CREF, Goldstein plans to advise companies on how to take better advantage of country music to build their brands.
