NEW YORK—Weber Shandwick has strengthened its national healthcare practice with the recent appointments of Miriam Mason, formerly with AstraZeneca in the U.K., in San Francisco and Amy Delmore, formerly of Pfizer, in Chicago.

Mason and Delmore will work closely with a team of healthcare and biotechnology specialists in Boston, including Maria Favorito, vice president and director, and Naomi Aoki, vice president and director of healthcare media relations, to drive the agency’s healthcare and biotech practices.

Mason joins the San Francisco office as a senior vice president and will oversee the agency’s healthcare and biotech practice in California. Prior to joining Weber Shandwick, Mason worked in London as head of corporate communications for AstraZeneca and earlier headed Ogilvy PR’s health and medical practice in London and worked at Financial Times for 10 years.

Delmore joins the Chicago office as a vice president after serving as a senior media relations specialist with Pfizer Health Solutions, a division of Pfizer that partners with healthcare and community organizations to implement patient-centered programs focused on prevention and disease management to improve patient health. She also worked at Ketchum.
