Weber Shandwick, Edelman Top North American SABRE Nominations

Weber Shandwick Worldwide (22 nominations) and Edelman (21 nominations) lead the way in terms of nominations for the Gold and Silver SABRE Awards, which will be presented at a gala dinner at New York’s Cipriani restaurant on May 12.

NEW YORK—Weber Shandwick Worldwide (22 nominations) and Edelman (21 nominations) lead the way in terms of nominations for the Gold and Silver SABRE Awards, which will be presented at a gala dinner at New York’s Cipriani restaurant on May 12.

 

Other firms with double-digit finalists for the awards—presented for public relations campaigns conducted in 2008—including Ketchum (17 nominations), GolinHarris (14), Porter Novelli (12) and Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide (10).

 

Several others notched multiple nominations, including Cohn & Wolfe (seven); Burson-Marsteller, Carmichael Lynch Spong, Fleishman-Hillard, and MS&L (six each); Chandler Chicco (including its Biosector 2 and Brandtectonics units), MWW Group and Ruder Finn (five each); and Cone, Coyne PR, FD (including FD Dittus and FD Gravitas), Hill & Knowlton, and RF Binder (four apiece).

 

The Bronze and Iron SABRE Awards, presented for excellence in public relations product and agency management respectively, were evenly distributed, with only Porter Novelli picking up more than one.
